I *L.O.V.E.* this family.

I am beyond blessed they stumbled across my work and hired me so our lives could cross.

Not only do I love them,

I adore them.

They are a beautiful representation of healing, love and strength.

It just so happens Jeff knows a thing or two

about the

thing or two that I know about.

15 years ago, Jeff was involved in a car accident.

It almost killed him.

It didn't take his life, but it did take his leg.

He survived.

Sadly,

his wife and youngest son did not.

He met Tonya just months after the accident.

She kind of was there to nurture him back to health.

She nurtured him back to physical health over a few years,

what most didn't see was that this woman nurtured him back to

emotional health.

She loved him.

Even being broken inside, she saw the gem of a man this man is.

Aren't THEY beautiful together?

I think so.

They are powerful.

SO, so powerful.

He, has a story.

It's worth telling, and it's worth hearing.

It just so happens Jeff is sharing his experience of Emotional, Physical and Spiritual healing Tomorrow. here are the details:

I am honestly ashamed that I didn't post in October and November.....MAJOR catch up...Still a good solid dozen + Shoots to blog. . . better late than never? SO, I couldn't resist than post some of my very own earth angels.....it's a different story photographing my children than photographing yours....cause I lose my patience with mine. With everyone else I think, "OH cute, they are throwing a tantrum. Mom and Dad are going to WANT these pictures when their kids are getting married and having babies of their own for you know what.....BLACKMAIL! And then it's my turn to eat my own thoughts as I photograph my own children being WILD. While you can't tell, I have rubber walls in my basement and they were jumping off them. So, I don't really have rubber walls, but I might as well.

I CAN'T GET OVER THIS Picture.....their facial expressions are the exact same....this was the moment I gave up on them sitting nicely in front of the camera and just allowed them to be kids and siblings and just enjoy each other. So glad I didn't force a goofy cheesy smile.* This.is.the.good.stuff. *

ONE of the only images I have of this kid making a NORMAL face:)

My goofy child. Take note how his smile curves down....it's because since he's been LITTLE he's been bound and determined not to give up the smiles for the camera.....OH boy did I get him on this one!

THESE two monkeys keep me laughing. They make my insides smile.

Balloon Release for Paul Phipps

One of my most beautiful friends lost her boyfriend tragically in December. I fortunately had the opportunity to do his family portraits in April. It was a privilege to capture these moments for their family that will now stand the test of time to serve as memories for his four sweet beautiful children left behind. I was honored to capture a fe photos of his balloon release. Michele who has been there for me when I lost my son now relates to the pain of losing the love of your life as she has mourns over her sweet and attentive Paul Phipps. Michele has been an example of unconditional Christlike love. She has mended strained relationships and helped heal broken hearts through her unwavering example of sympathy and compassion. She is pictured with Paul's ex-wife Sarah. I think it is simply beautiful that these two wonderful and beautiful women can come together and mourn together regardless of the circumstances. The world would tell them it was awkward to work through the death of an ex-husband with his girlfriend. These two women prove the world wrong as they are able to set aside differences and simply love, mourn and rejoice in once what was.

You are loved and missed by many Paul Phipps.

These children were simply lovely in every sense of the word. Not only are they adorable enough to want to fold them up, put them in your pocket, take them home and keep them and claim them as your own, they are sweet and well behaved and fun and silly and goofy and irresistible...It was such a Pri-vi-lege (a special advantage, immunity, permission, right, or benefit granted to or enjoyed by an individual) to photograph these youngsters. Great to meet your family Kamerya!!!!

Salt Lake City Urban Family Photographer (The Burch Family)

Miss Candace, now Mrs. Burch chose an Urban Photos hoot in Salt Lake because outside in January is blah. But architecture is always awesome regardless of the temperature outside. She has been a light in my life. She found my personal blog about my baby who passed away when her sweet lil niece passed away. Her niece 'kaylie bug' shares James' anniversary. She has the gift of compassion. She hardly knew me, but yet, loved me in a dark time in my life. . . it's easy to love someone when they love you . . . and they don't have to. She would be easy to love regardless, but she brings sunshine to my heart. I first became friends with this lovely lady when I became single. She had just met this fella. I remember how GIDDY and NERVOUS she was over this one. His name is Matt. She likes to call him Matthew Byron Burch, cause she loves him. Just a little:). Not only can you See the love these two have, you can feel it. He adores her. I want that. I will have that. She adores him, and his two children. They are such a great example of a healthy blended family. LOVE your face Candace:).

Brandi has started a new life. A life as a single mother. It's a life that I am familiar with myself. A life she never thought she'd find herself in, but alas here she is with so much strength with a can do attitude. Her baby girl was adorably non cooperative. . . until the very last moment she switched and flashed us a few smiles. WHAT I LOVED about Brandi was that she embraced her daughters personality and didn't get upset or irritated rather had the attitude, "Well, this is how she is, I will love it because I will remember how she was!" I love moms like that:) I am glad she gave us a few smiles, but I actually love love love the one of mom making a grumpy face with her. HECK, if we can't get her do what we are doing of smiling, we will do what she's doing and frown:) It makes my heart happy, probably, because I have a child JUST LIKE THIS!

These earthlings are children of one of my very favorite people in the entire world and especially in Las Vegas. Her name is Lady (not really but I am pretty sure she doesn't like her name out there in cyber space). I may or may not sing her 'Sold' every time she calls me. For some BIZARRE reason she decided she wanted to be one of my besties after my baby died-when I was an emotional mess. She hardly knew me before the accident. She has wiped away thousands of tears, shed just as many out of compassion and held my hand through the mist of darkness and into the light that I now live. I LOVE you pretty lady. I love your kids. I love your family. I love all you have done for me. Air Kisses from Utah to Las Vegas:) MWAH!

Lucky for me Austin and Cody and baby girls were in town from Las Vegas so I was privileged to capture these precious moments with their family. I thought my kids were photogenic...until I photographed Austin and Cody's kids. Austin and Cody and I go way back. Back to when we just had one child. Their baby girl Kennedy (I like to call her Kenneder) is just 5 weeks younger than my sweet Angel James. There were endless play dates and swimming excursions in the hot Las Vegas summers. I *love* this family. They are as sweet and kind as they come. Their girlows (as my Spence man said it when he was 4) are some of the most scrumptious little faces I know. Every one of them is just simply gorgeous. I went a little overboard with this family-only because I could-because they are that easy to take pictures of. Kisses Cody and Austin. Had so much fun with your shoot!!!!

The Gregsters (also known as my running coach) needed some awesome 'BAD' headshots. These are done in my studio. Sometimes I forget just how much I LOVE working with studio lighting to achieve a drastic look. The whole time I was giddy that I was using my college education in studio lighting! But I do miss summer and outdoor shoots....Soon enough the cherry blossoms will be blooming and orchards will be calling for me. . . . but I don't think that would have been conducive to this shoot. I love having the versatility of my studio, right in the comfort of my home. Also nice to shoot indoors when it's COLD outdoors, even though it hasn't been very cold this winter. WHAT's With that anyway? All I'm saying is it better not be postponing my summer!!!!!

EVERY month, YES, you heard it, EVERY SINGLE MONTH of their babes first year they got his pictures professionally taken so they could see how BIG and fast he was growing. They rotated through several photographers in the greater Salt Lake area to get a variety of styles. It was so fun to capture this little guy at Christmas Time!

Such cute children! Turns out it was FREEZING on our day to shoot so we shot in the house and I LOVED it! I love having children in their natural environment. Momma Nelson was nervous with her cute twin boys being rambunctious. I personally love when kids are silly. It brings my best kid self out. I think that is why I love being a child photographer, it keeps me in my youth. I'm a child trapped in an adults body:)

AHHH!!!! REALLY? Have I been THAT horrible at blogging? I just went back and realized Facebook has taken the place of my blog bragging! It's true. I have major, major blogging catch up to do. So many cute families, so many adorable children that I had the opportunity to photograph and here I have hoarded them all to myself and my Facebook fans. . . which by the way, you can follow my Facebook page here. I do remember now being swamped with work, it was all I could do to just get my customers their disc back in a timely manner. None of my Colorado trip was documented! None! Here we go. I'm so posting something everyday until I get caught up. . . excluding the weekends.

OH MY TWINS;-)

These two little princess kept us HOPPING the entire hour. We at the end had all burned at least 500 calories were in an all out sweat and took everything from us. I think I went to bed at 7:00 that night;) LOL. I kid, I kid. Momma Doyle was quite nervous that we didn't get anything 'good'. I reassured her there has never been a time that I wasn't sufficiently happy with the results. This certainly was not the 'perfect family shot', it was better. It was perfectly imperfect. Imperfect because I didn't capture just smiles on those babies faces, I captured-are you ready for it? I captured real.life.happening.The life of toddler twin parents. These moments are priceless because they will always remind us of what was. And what was is what makes our hearts happy 20 years down the road.

Every Now and again, I photograph a child like this one.....you know the kind.....the kind that has a different facial expression with every shutter snap. . . the kind that you have a hard time choosing the best ones, because quite frankly, they are all hilarious and adorable. . .even the ones where he is pulling a class clown face. How could you not give all of these images to their parents? There are children who are cute, and there are parents who want to get their children into modeling. . . then there are children like him who just have a gift of being natural in front of the camera. . . it's kids like this who have a career in front of the camera.....and that camera should be mine, because I had such.a.fun.time.photographing him.

This is the best location for photographing in the winter in Utah. It's in Utah county and it's just perfect on drab cold winter days. . .

I owe my love of Earthly Beauty to mi Madre. Growing up she would always point out the beautiful sunsets, clouds, sun rays, ice-tipped mountains, flowers, rocks and nature and exclaim, "GOD has given us so much beauty to just enjoy....Just for US! He created this just so we could enjoy living here on this Earth." Her appreciation rubbed off on me and now I look everywhere I go for 'the beauty of the earth'. ..and it makes life so much more enjoyable when we recognize the small pleasures of life and the things God did for us-just so we had pretty things to look at.

Mother Earth is astounding.

I'm grateful she's my home.

I need YOUR help to choose your favorite images from my collections. I am in the process of revamping my photography business and need your input on what you love and what's just average. Be honest. Brooks+Kids+lake+Boat=Adorable (Salt lake Family photographer)

This was a new kind of shoot for me. Brooks wanted pictures done on the lake with his sweet sweet children! What better way to do family pictures than doing what your family does best to create memories?! The lighting was challenging as it was noon with no access to shade out in the middle of the lake with the sunlight directly overhead. With that being said, the challenge was fun:)! You want your subject to be facing away from the sun in portraits to avoid harsh shadows on their face. I turned them away from the sun as to allow the sunlight to highlight their hair. Their faces were in shadow because the sun was behind them. Exposure was a bit more tricky making sure their faces were lit well enough and at the same time not blowing out the back ground. This is when shooting in Manual makes ALL The difference in the world! The images of them surfing I was not so concerned about the shadows on their faces because they are less formal images.

It's been a while since I photographed a little guy who had as much energy as my James. This little fella was 2 years old. They act alike, look alike and are both energizer bunnies. It made me miss him-but in a good way-not a sad way. The pure joy it brings me to capture these memories for my clients families is priceless to me. It is what brings me my greatest joy. the same weekend I was there....

Laura + Wes=LOVE {Las Vegas Engagement Photography}

I have never witnessed a woman so smitten by her man at an engagement shoot.

It made my job

*EASY*

Laura Texted me a few minutes after our shoot,

"When I got in the truck, Wes said,'that was actually more fun than I expected'"

He even said I was nice and energetic and down to Earth cause I was willing to get down on the floor and make it fun. Go figure....I was feeling extremely BLEH because this was the Monday after my half marathon...and.

I.was.extremely.sore.

So I'm glad he didn't notice that I wasn't 100%.

This was the best compliment. Ever.

I know I have succeeded when I can get the man to enjoy the experience. My trick to getting the man to love picture day....have his woman make out with him the whole time.:) Works every time:)!

My amazing clients referred me to the family and gave me the opportunity to photograph this little babe. He was born with a hole in his heart. I took the opportunity on an otherwise very difficult day in my life, April 20th, which marks the day of my oldest sons time to fly home to Heavenly Father. It was so therapeutic to help others who are in need to get my mind off of myself. Thank you Nicole and Kim for referring Valerie and her family to me. It was more for me than I think it was for them:). More of this family to come, just one for now.

These Girls were my besties through our Senior year of High School and now 10 years later we find ourselves still getting together being silly and laughing until we cry and having sleep overs and head stand contests and deep conversations. That's how you know a good friend, when you can shoot the breeze or in a moment switch it and talk about the deep stuff. These gals were always so in fashion. I always tried to keep up. I gave them the gift of feeling sexy-or at least that was my objective:) I think it's good for every mom to have some beautiful head shots done on occassion to remember their individuality and beauty that so often times gets covered up with puke and dirty diapers:) LOVE you ladies.

How did I miss blogging this beautiful newborn baby girl?!?! Nikki, (her mom), well, she and I, we love each other. Ironically enough, we met and she was 36 weeks prego with her last baby Easton. She was bold enough to ask me then to come and photograph the birth of her little Man:). Being the sentimental photographer that I am couldn't pass up the opportunity of witnessing the first breath of a little human being brought into this world. Ever since then, we have a unique bond. Cause I was one of two people special enough to be invited into that room for that moment in her life. Me with my camera and her hubby. I somehow didn't blog about that one either. I will shortly make up for that, because it was simply put, quite the unique experience to watch a human being come straight from Heaven... Here's for you Nikki;)

My Kierah baby is no longer a baby. And she lets me know it:) She is 3 today. Everything pink and pretty and opinionated. I can't get away with calling her "Kierah Baby" any longer. It is now forever going to be "Kierah Lady". But on ocassion I still sneak in that "Kierah baby" cause she will always be my baby. She makes for the lovelies of subjects. From the time she was born I have not been able to keep my camera pointed away from her. She is my camera magnet. Her looks are captivating to the camera, but her spirit has captivated my soul. I am sure I didn't spell that right. Pretty sure I at once called her Tiara, Kiatta. . . and Amari. . . I did get her name down by the end, lucky for me Tiffany had a name I could remember! I'm SO Sorry for all the WRONG name calling! How Sheepish I feel. . . But, alas, a beautifully photogenic family.
